Bright reds - scarlet, pillar-box red, crimson or cherry - are very cheerful and youthful. There is certainly a red for everyone

Red is the colour of the month for November. Red evokes a number of emotions, and is often associated with passion, desire and love as well as war, danger, strength and power. It is a hot, strong, stimulating colour that represents excitement and energy.

As the days become shorter and nights longer, red can also create a feeling of joy for the approaching festive season.

Many people are reluctant to use red in their homes for fear of it seeming too garish, but by adding a few red pieces you can create a new and warm vibration.

Try lush deep red velvet cushion covers and throws…….touches of red to your dining table using textured glass plates, red wine glasses, red candles, a vase,  or a plaid tablecloth. If you are feeling bolder, chandeliers in coloured red glass or thick red velvet curtains create a sophisticated, luxurious and slightly dramatic feel to a room, infusing warmth to the space beautifully.

Red is a primary colour that sits between blue and green on the colour wheel.
